Free Hearing Screenings now available
at
Alcester Medical Centre

A New Service For You

As you may know, for some time Alcester Medical Centre has been running a Community Hearing Clinic which provides a full hearing service including the supply of NHS digital hearing aids and all necessary aftercare for patients.

I am pleased to announce that we are now able to provide a FREE hearing screening service for all patients aged 55 and over as part of our Hearing service

Appointments are available between 9am-10m every on Wednesdays. You will undergo a 15-20 minute screening which will ascertain whether you have any level of hearing loss.

If the results of this screening indicate that this is the case, you will be referred to your usual GP to discuss the results of the screening.

Should your GP decide that hearing aids would be of benefit, they will refer you for a full hearing assessment with a Hearing Aid Audiologist which, if you choose, can be arranged for you here at this Practice.

Making an appointment is easy

To arrange your free hearing screening appointment, please ask at the reception for the next available time.

Yours Sincerely
Practice Manager

Healthy Homes Project

The Healthy Homes Project is funded by the British Gas Energy trust and is there to assist low income, vulnerable households with interventions that address health problems that are exacerbated by fuel poverty.

The project is initially set to run for 12 months and aims to provide targeted health, welfare and energy efficiency advice to at least 500 patients and their families. The overall aim of the project is to improve health outcomes of those people with, or at risk of developing, illnesses affected by living in a cold home. For example, chronic illnesses like asthma, CHD, particularly COPD and childhood asthma. The households that are eligible include those with people aged over 65, with cardiovascular disease, severe mental illness, people with dementia, families containing a child under 5 years of age and households with pregnant women.
Patients at Alcester Health Centre are being invited in with a letter from the Healthy Homes Coordinator, this contains a brief questionnaire that we ask to be completed and brought to the appointment with the HHC.

Named GP For All Patients

From April 2015, all patients registered at  Alcester Health Centre have been allocated a named GP.  If you would like to know your named GP, please ask a member of staff when you next contact the practice.

The practice is the oldest practice in Alcester and has been caring for the people of Alcester and surround areas for many years. Dr Andrew Wallis is the senior partner in practice.

At a time of great change within the NHS, we always strive to offer our patients the best health care we can.
